Leo Fender made history in 1951 with the introduction of the worldÕs first electric bass guitar. 50 years ago Fender made THIS bass guitar. This one is the second production year 1952, of the Fender precision bass. The neck date is 7-3-52 in pencil. The bridge also dates to 1952 S#0507. The tuning pegs are the original (riveted style) pegs. The volume and tone knobs are also original. The original pot cover plate is also here along with the bridge and saddles. The original cord jack and through body string hole hardware is still here and in good condition. This bass plays very, very good. The action in unbelievable and the tone is pure fat Fender P-Bass. After playing and owning this bass I can see how proud and happy Leo Fender must have been with his invention. This bass only needs a few items to be (all original). The pick guard is a reissue along with the nut. I donÕt know about the pots because it is hard to see the numbers. But because of the appearance of some new wiring I suspect the pots are from another year. The following numbers are what I can see on the pots V-IM FI-250N 113A6441 3 140913. If you have any info. on these numbers send it to me and I will post it. I also know that the pickup is an original style replacement. I have the pickup chrome cover but not the bridge cover. The bass has been refinished so the body date is unreadable. I can only see a D in the neck cavity and some pencil marks. Whether you are a collector or a player this bass will be an incredible Bass to own. The case is rough but all latches work IÕm not sure if it original but it is black tolex with orange lining no logo and the unpadded inner lining is nailed in place with original tiny finishing nails.
