1951 FENDER Esquire Electric Guitar S/N: 1795 Serial #: 1795. This Classic Fender Esquire is in great playing condition with nearly all original parts. It has that sound that cannot be duplicated! The slab Ash body has been refinished to a light opaque Butterscotch, and the neck has been totally re-varnished as well. The neck heel still bears the original date of 4/21/51. There is no body date visible, but all indications are that it is original with a front pickup rout, but no rout between the pickups other than a wiring hole. A front pickup had been installed and removed at some time after the re-finishing. The bridge, pickup, saddles, control panel, pots and selector all look to be original, as do the pickguard with slot screws, tuners, string tree, neck plate and 3 out of 4 neck screws. The neck has a truss rod, and is in very good shape, though it has been re-fretted, a new nut installed, adn the headstock logo may be assumed to be unoriginal. There are also some numbers lightly etched onto the bridge plate. Other than the re-fin and a couple of incidental non original hardware pieces this historic guitar is in great shape and a true joy to play. It comes with a non-original tweed case.
